Looking for a place for a quick bite of something freshly cooked and authentic? I have just the place, Dough is a little pizzeria on Rose Street serving whole pizzas as well as pizzas by the slice. We popped in during a day’s shopping and was really impressed.
The lunchtime offers were excellent, pizza slice and salad box from £4.00 or a whole pizza for half the usual price.
The pizza slices were large and would have been more than satisfying, but seeing as there were three of us I decided a full pizza was the best deal on the day.
My lot were pretty ravenous so I didn’t have chance to assess the whole menu and made a snap call on a Chicken And Pancetta which also came topped with roast potatoes, mozzarella and pesto dressing.
Now pizza isn’t my favourite food, BUT, if it’s made with fresh dough, straight from the oven, and featuring some interesting toppings then it has the ability to grab my attention. Dough delivers on all the key factors and will easily now be the go to to satisfy my pizza urges.
We also had a couple of cans of juice, and three of the Nutella Croissants – little morsels of fresh dough filled with Nutella and baked. At three for £1 this was a bargain dessert, and that little something sweet that we craved.
This brings me onto the second main selling point of Dough, after the excellent pizza – it’s great value. Everything I have mentioned came to £8.95, yes really. During midweek lunchtimes they offer whole pizzas half price. I’m not sure where else I could get as satisfying a lunch for three people (sitting in!) for under £10?
Dough, keep the wood fire burning, we’ll be back!
